How much water should I put in a straight tube bong?

For a standard straight tube, you typically want enough water to submerge the downstem or percolator by about half an inch to an inch. If you have multiple percolators, fill the bottom first, then pour water through the top to fill the upper percs.

Are straight tubes easier to clean than other bongs?
